AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) -- Two republicans have already announced they will be in the race for the 6th District Seat, which Bob Goodlatte holds.
Delegate Ben Cline, who serves the 24th district and Republican National Committeewoman, Cynthia Dunbar.
Both spoke Tuesday night at the Augusta County Republican Committee meeting, sharing their plans if elected.
"Taxes are so high that the more we can streamline Washington, give more responsibility to the states and to the people part of the constitution, then that would improve the lives of citizens, up and down the Shenandoah Valley," said Delegate Cline.
"I would personally like to see the moving forward with tax reform which is great, but we promise the repeal of Obama care and I just think we need to go back to the plate and get it done," added Dunbar.
Both Dunbar and Cline are among several candidates with sights on the 6th District seat.
On Tuesday, Rockingham County's clerk of the circuit court, Chaz Haywood announced he will run.
Micheal Frend of Waynesboro plans to run as an independent, and democrat Sergio Coppola of Harrisonburg announced his intention to run as well.
