Shenandoah National Park Rated As "Most Enchanting"
OnlyInYourState.com has rated Shenandoah National Park as the "most enchanting" spot in Virginia. The tourism blog rated the most enchanting areas in all 50 states, looking at different natural attractions in each.
Some of the parks' highlights, according to the blog, were the waterfalls, peaks and Skyline Drive, but park officials say hiking to see those views is also a plus.
"I think being on the trail, being unplugged, being outside, and rejuvenating in the park is what most people really enjoy about Shenandoah," said Claire Comer, a spokesperson for the park.
Comer says "enchanted" is a great way to describe the park.
"I mean something as simple as a spiderweb in the morning on the dew and it sparkles or when you go up one day and you're above the clouds so you're looking out over this huge fog ocean, I think that's just gorgeous," Comer said.
Other spots named on that list across the country include Lake Champlain in Vermont and Niagara Falls in New York.
