WAYNESBORO, Va. (WHSV) — If you're looking for a new place to eat, Steak 'N Shake just opened its doors in Waynesboro. The Illinois-based chain began construction just a few months ago. With classic burgers, fries, and hand-dipped milkshakes, the restaurant likens itself as "old-fashioned," which they feel fits the Valley very well.
"The town of Waynesboro is a great town, perfect demographic for us, a lot of families, this is really what our concept is about," said Vice President of Steaks of Virginia, Chris Farwell. "So really, the demographic here is perfect for what we look for in a customer base."
The restaurant says they're not just here to make a profit – they're here to be a part of Waynesboro.
"We're extremely excited to be part of the Waynesboro community. We're looking forward to partner with local high schools and we really want to be part of the community."
This is the first time the chain has opened in the Shenandoah Valley. The next closest locations are in Lynchburg, Roanoke, and Fredericksburg.
The new Steak 'N Shake is just off of exit 94 on interstate 64, next to the Chick-fil-a in the Town Center shopping area where Target, Books-a-Million, Aldi, and more are located.
