The Augusta County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help to learn more about a burglary in Weyers Cave.

The sheriff's office says deputies responded to Rocky's Gold and Silver, at 3287 Lee Highway (Rt. 11) sometime around 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 23, for a report of an alarm. When deputies arrived, they found a hole had been made through the wall in the back of the business.

Officials say video surveillance shows that the suspect, who deputies believe to be male, entered the business, used a blunt instrument to break the glass on two display cases, and stole several boxes of silver coins.

Deputies say the suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, camouflage mask, red lens sunglasses, gloves, black pants and black shoes. They say the suspect was also carrying a duffel bag and carrying several tools.

Rocky's is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the theft.

If you have any information about this case, contact the Augusta County Sheriff's Office at (540) 245-5333 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 322-2017.
