A Staunton man is accused of trying to hire a hitman to murder three people.

According to the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office, 20-year-old Devon M. Fauber has been arrested and charged with three counts of solicitation to commit 1st degree murder.

The investigation started on February 3rd, when deputies got a report that someone in the area was looking to have three people killed.

That person was identified as Devin Fauber. A deputy then posed as a hitman and spoke to Fauber, who provided the deputy with the names, addresses, and photographs of the three people he wished to be killed.

Fauber spoke with the person he thought was a hitman several times, before he was arrested at his home on February 12th.

As of now, the investigation continues, and the Sheriff's Office has not determined Fauber's motive for wanting three people dead.

Fauber is being held in Middle River Regional Jail without bond.
