STAUNTON, Va. (WHSV) — Organizers in the Queen City are preparing for the Staunton's annual Fourth of July celebration and this year, they have new tricks up their sleeve.

The name of the two-day event is changing from "America's Birthday Celebration" to "Happy Birthday America" this year.

The annual parade will take place in Gypsy Hill Park Wednesday morning at 10 a.m., while the concert and fireworks celebration will take place later in the afternoon at John Moxie Stadium.

Organizers said they are hoping for a big turn out.

"Last year the growth was immense and we're expecting the same and more this year. We're hoping for about 15,000 to turn out this year," said Katie Curry, one of the volunteers. "We have a lot more vendors participating this year, we have 15 concessions."

Organizers also said the chair-dash will be making a return and will start at 6 a.m. on Wednesday.
