WAYNESBORO, Va. (WHSV) -- A sign claiming the Waynesboro High School is condemned could be seen outside the school Friday.
The sign was a prank by the class of 2016. The school is not condemned. In fact, when WHSV called the school, the office chuckled about the prank over the phone and said the class was actually rehearsing for graduation Friday afternoon.
On a serious note, leaders in the city have been discussing the need for a new high school recently. In April, WHSV reported a new building would ring up at around $73 million, while renovating would cost about $35 million.
The class of 2016 graduates at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 4.
