WAYNESBORO, Va. (WHSV) — Four people from Augusta County were arrested by the Waynesboro Police Department on Monday ahead of what a tipster said was a planned armed robbery.

Monday afternoon, an individual called the department with information about an armed robbery they said was planned for a specific location in Waynesboro. The caller gave officers a description of the people planning the robbery and the vehicle they'd be using.

Armed with that information, officers responded to the area they were told would be robbed and observed the suspect vehicle there. While at the location, officers confirmed more information they had gotten in the tip and pulled the vehicle over for a traffic stop on Ivy Street at about 7:30 p.m.

During the traffic stop, officers recovered three firearms recently stolen in Augusta County and placed the people in the car under arrest.

In the car were Darryl Scott Yancey, a 51-year-old Augusta County man, Brenden Corey Nurnberger, a 20-year-old Stuarts Draft man, Corey Allen Carroll, an 18-year-old Crimora man, and a 17-year-old from Crimora who won't be identified because he's a juvenile.

All four were charged with Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery, in addition to other charges. A full list of charges for each suspect can be found below.

The adults are all being held without bond in Middle River Regional Jail and the 17-year-old has been detained in the Shenandoah Valley Juvenile Center.
