All lanes open on I-81 in Weyers Cave after a vehicle fire

UPDATE (7:10 p.m.):

All southbound lanes of Interstate 81 in Weyers Cave are now open after an afternoon vehicle fire led to delays.

VDOT says the vehicle fire at mile marker 237 caused up to six miles of backup for drivers heading south.


UPDATE (4:40 p.m.):

VDOT says one southbound lane of I-81 is closed in Weyers Cave after a vehicle fire. Backups already stretch at least four miles, however.


A vehicle fire on Interstate 81 in Weyers Cave is leading to delays for drivers heading south.

VDOT says all southbound lanes of I-81 are closed at mile marker 237 in Weyers Cave due to a vehicle fire. Crews are on scene.
