AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. --(WHSV)-- If you were hoping to fly to Orlando from Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport, but didn't know if one of the days you wanted to leave was offered — well — you may be in luck, because SHD just announced their service with ViaAir would be expanded.
ViaAir has been in the Shenandoah Valley for several months now.
They began offering flights to Charlotte late last year, and then started flying to Orlando as well.
Now, they will be flying to Orlando even more often.
If you check right now, they offer flights twice a week to Orlando, but by mid-summer, there will be flights on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
SHD says all these extra flights are just another chance to get your summer tan on!
"It's exciting for us, and it shows that there is demand, and that if an airline puts a product in place that offers a popular destination at a good fare, and the service is reliable they will respond and they have," said Greg Campbell, the Executive Director of Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport.
Campbell says in regard to reliability, he understands there were some issues with ViaAir in the beginning of their service at SHD, but in recent months, they have been much more reliable.
He says in April, they have had a 100 percent completion rate with no cancellations.
SHD expects to have flights four days a week implemented by July.
