Warming shelters open in two locations in the Valley

STUARTS DRAFT, Va. (WHSV) — Two emergency shelters have opened in the Valley to accommodate those without power due to winter weather on Thursday.

According to a press release, Augusta County Emergency Management has opened a shelter at Stuarts Draft High School located at 1028 Augusta Farms Road. Anyone planning on coming to the shelter is advised to bring a sleeping bag, blankets, personal hygiene items and phone chargers.

A shelter has also been opened at East Rock High School at 250 Eagle Rock Road in Elkton. According to a press release, no pets are permitted other than service animals.
