HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) —
UPDATE (7:54 P.M.) - Crews are expected to work overnight to fix the water main break along South Main St., according to a city's public information officer.
She said it was unclear whether or not the morning commute would be impacted.
A portion of South Main Street in Harrisonburg remains closed as city crews work to repair a water main break.
Officials responded to the scene around four o'clock Sunday morning, according to a release.
South Main Street, between Bluestone Drive and Fairview Avenue, has both northbound and southbound closures. The city recommends drivers use Warsaw Ave, Fairview Ave and High Street as detours.
Water access was also temporarily shut off for homes in the immediate area, according to the city.
