WAYNESBORO, Va. (WHSV) -- The community came together this weekend to raise money to improve a Waynesboro school.

Kate Collins Middle School's annual Car Show and Spring Fling drew in people from around the city on Saturday, April 22.

Both events were put together by the school's parent-teacher organization.

"It says a lot. We have very strong family support, in our whole division," said Janet Buchheit, the principal at Kate Collins. "Not only in middle school, but also elementary and high school. I think it speaks volumes for the importance of education in our community."

Parents and teachers said they hope to keep the tradition going on for many years to come.
