Waynesboro woman faces five counts of embezzlement

WAYNESBORO, Va. (WHSV) - Waynesboro police arrested a woman on five counts of embezzlement. According to a news release, Agnes Elizabeth Brooks, 46, of Waynesboro was arrested Wednesday.

The Waynesboro Police say that the Wildlife Center of Virginia contacted them in August about concerns that business accounts were being used for personal transactions. The news release says Brooks was the office manager.

Waynesboro Police say investigators determined that Brooks had used the business accounts for $5,000 in personal purchases.

Brooks is free on bond. A court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 8.
