MCDOWELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WHSV) — Two people are facing multiple felony charges after West Virginia Natural Resources officers found a car full of drugs and money, along with a medieval weapon, last month.

According to a release by police, Officer Little was in the Berwind area of McDowell County on April 28 when a turkey hunter came up to him and told him about some suspicious activities nearby.

The officer, along with Trooper Saddler, patrolled Berwind Mountain Road and came across a car parked in a wide spot where it appeared to have broken down.

As the pair approached the vehicle, they noticed a strong smell of marijuana.

When they searched the car, West Virginia Natural Resources Police says the two found 57 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 14.9 grams of marijuana, $2,625 in cash, digital scales, multiple cell phones, and a medieval-style chain mace.

Two people were taken into custody and are facing multiple counts of felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and felony conspiracy.

Police did not identify the two suspects.
