Workforce centers relaunch with new identity
The Shenandoah Valley Workforce Development Board (SVWDB) is relaunching career centers under the name Virginia Career Works.
The brand was announced by Former Governor Terry McAuliffe last January as a way to streamline career services across the commonwealth. Fourteen other regional workforce center adopted the name.
"It should make it easier for the customers to find the centers, the workforce centers and understand that wherever they find that Virginia Career Works center in Virginia, that that will be the same throughout Virginia," said Sharon Johnson, the Chief Executive Officer of SVWDB.
The workforce board — with centers in Harrisonburg, Winchester, Fishersville and a presence in Page County — officially unveiled its new identity on Monday.
SVWDB assists between 650 and 850 people in a variety of aspects in the search for a new career, including interview preparations and hosting job fairs.
