Dozens of employees from MillerCoors in Elkton spent Friday morning canoeing up and down the Shenandoah River.

They were helping remove trash and debris. The employees joined members of the Shenandoah Valley Pure Water Forum in the volunteer cleanup.

The brewery members also constructed a concrete boat launching pad at Island Ford in conjunction with the Virginia Department of Game and Fisheries.

In just four hours, the volunteers were able to remove more than 1,200 pounds of trash and debris from the river.
