The Virginia Department of Education is getting feedback from educators across the Commonwealth on accountability and accreditation policies in Virginia schools.
The immigration bond company Nexus and Libre by Nexus were the defendants of a long-lasting civil lawsuit. After several investigations and seven years, the company was ordered by U.S. District Judge Elizabeth Dillon to pay a total of $811 million to multiple organizations.
Environmental activists protested outside of Department of Environmental Quality offices around Virginia on Tuesday. The protesters urging the DEQ to take greater action against the Mountain Valley Pipeline. A small group at the DEQ’s office in Harrisonburg took part in the protests.
County staff has drafted an ordinance amendment that would limit the number of poultry houses that can be built on a property at one time. The amendment would set a limit of four poultry houses over a 30-month period with no upper cap.
