The Charlottesville Police Department is asking for help to identify 10 people in connection with an assault that happened on August 12.

According to a release, the assault occurred near the Fourth Street crossover on the Downtown Mall during the

that turned deadly and brought national attention to Charlottesville in the days to come.

Police have no names for any of the suspects, but officials did release images of each person — two females and eight males — in the hope that people could identify them.

The images of the suspects are posted in a slideshow at the bottom of this story.

Anyone with information about any of these individuals is asked to call Detective Kirby at (434) 970-3604 or Crime Stoppers at (434) 977-4000.

Kirby says police have video of the incident.

The video wasn't immediately released, but Kirby says it shows the victim being assaulted "in one way or another" by the suspects over a period of several minutes.

The victim suffered minor injuries. No arrests have yet been made.
