Yeast Raised Doughnuts


● 1 ½ Cups Whole Milk

● ⅓ Cup Vegetable Shortening

● 2 Packages Of Instant Yeast

● ⅓ Cup Warm Water ( 100­110 degrees)

● 2 Eggs (Lightly Beaten)

● 1 ½ Tsp Salt

● ¼ Cup Granulated Sugar

● 1 Tbsp Ground Cinnamon

● 3 ­ 4 Cups Flour (Depending on how sticky the dough it)


Once the dough has risen, turnout onto a lightly floured surface. Use a rolling pin to roll the dough out to about 3/4 inch thick.

Using a doughnut cutter, cut the doughnuts out and place them on parchment paper to rise again. When you have cut all the doughnuts you can out of the first batch; take the scraps and roll them out again and repeat the process until all the dough has been utilized.

Let the individual doughnut rise for another 30 minutes. In the meantime, preheat the deep fryer to 350 degrees, so the oil is hot when the doughnuts are ready to be fried. Fry the doughnuts for 2 minutes on each side or until lightly golden brown. when they are done, use a pair of tongs to grab the doughnut out of the fryer and place on paper towels to drain excess grease. Repeat the steps until all the doughnuts are fried.

Yield: 20-24 doughnuts
