LURAY, Va. (WHSV) -- Allie Weakley has been a key member of two sports teams at Luray High School. She's also already pursuing a career as a nurse.
"I've always cared about people and always been compassionate towards helping them and caring for them," Weakley said.
She is on track to become a licensed practical nurse next year.
"Allie is a very mature, responsible, highly motivated person," Page County Technical Center practical nursing instructor Erika Rucker said. "Which you have to be."
In her sophomore year, Weakley was the starting point guard for the basketball team. Since then, she has played multiple positions on the court. This past season, she earned All-District honors.
"I've told her that we'll talk about her for years to come," Luray High School girls varsity basketball head coach Joe Lucas said. "She's a competitor, she's even-keeled, we're gonna have to find somebody to fill that void."
Weakley is hoping for a successful finish to her soccer career. Upon graduation, she'll continue to pursue her nursing career.
