STAUNTON, Va. (WHSV) -- In four years at Lee High, Cooper Yurish has competed at the State level in cross country, indoor track and soccer. This year, he's hoping to finish with a state title.
"Cooper started as a defensive player for me back in the freshman year," Lee High boys varsity soccer coach Homes Tehrani said. "He had the poise of taking bigger guys and skillful guys, and he always found a way to beat them."
"Cooper is very posed and confident, very well spoken," Lee High teacher Jennifer Knoxville said. "He has this open mind, he's strong in his opinions but he's also very willing to listen."
Yurish currently has a 4.73 GPA and ranks second in his class. Next year he will attend UVA and plans on majoring in engineering.
