ELKTON, Va. (WHSV) — A key player on three different teams at East Rockingham High School, Isaac Kisling, is this week's Burger King Student Athlete of the Week.
Kisling stars on the football, basketball and baseball teams. Kisling and the Eagles football team will take on Central High School in the Region 2B final this Friday night.
"For him to be able to excel in all three of those sports, and have a 4.1 GPA, and be involved in as much stuff as he is, is absolutely amazing," said Donnie Coleman, East Rock head football coach.
"Just gotta set your routine and stick to it," Kisling said. "I try and plan everything out to like perform it to the best of my ability."
"Isaac also spends hours a day practicing in the classroom, so he spends hours studying, he spends hours working on projects," said Rebecca Roberts, one of Kisling's teachers. "He reads, you know, he does all those things that you need to do to be successful academically."
Kisling, who is already taking college-level electrical engineering courses, is hoping to go through an ROTC training program, and eventually enlist in the armed forces and become a pilot, following in the footsteps of his grandfather.
