AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) -- At Riverheads High School, Sara Moore is the only member of the girls varsity basketball team that has been on the squad for four years. She's a team captain, a key part of the gladiators' success and this week's Burger King Student Athlete of the Week.
"If you come to a game and you don't know anybody on the team, either team," Riverheads head girls varsity basketball coach Gene Wassick, who also taught Moore, said. "You know her, in about the first three minutes."
"When I see her, I just think she's selfless," former Riverheads head girls varsity basketball coach Tim Morris said. "You know, it's team first. She's a great person to have in our school and our program."
Moore is interested in Radford, Michigan State and Virginia Tech for college. She is hoping to play basketball in college. For her career, she's considering becoming a large animal veteranarian or a strength and conditioning coach.
