FISHERSVILLE, Va. (WHSV) -- At Wilson Memorial High School, Ty Hevener has excelled in sports and academics in the past four years.
"I take pride in everything I do," Hevener said. "I just want to be the best I can at everything I do."
"He's staying after practice hitting in the cage every single afternoon after practice," Wilson Memorial varsity baseball head coach Rodney Cullen said. "He puts in the extra work and then it's paid off the last several games. He's really been on a hot streak."
"A lot of students now are very grade driven and they need to have As or they need to get Bs," Wilson Memorial physics teacher Carter Williams said. "He's more of a student that he wants to know the why, he wants to actually learn the information."
