After closing to within a possession at the 2:15 mark, James Madison women's basketball's comeback attempt fell just short as Elon walked away with a 50-43 victory. The loss snapped an 11-game win-streak (14-8) and marked the first in Colonial Athletic Association play (10-1) for the Dukes.

After Elon led by as many as 16 points in the earlygoings, JMU chipped away slowly and pulled within two midway through the third quarter. While the Phoenix built their advantage back up to 10 (44-34, 7:23 4Q), a 9-2 run by the Dukes had them within three with 2:15 left on the clock.

JMU made key defensive stops to secure a trio of looks from beyond the arc, but all three were off the mark, and the Phoenix picked up four insurance points in the final 19 seconds.
