Dukes off to strong start in CAA play

HARRISONBURG, Va. -- The James Madison women's basketball team is off to a strong start in conference play after a pair of Colonial Athletic Association wins over the weekend.

JMU (10-3 Overall, 2-0 CAA) defeated Delaware Friday night before winning at Drexel Sunday afternoon.

"When you are looking at the schedule in the beginning of the year, I was like if we split I would be okay with a split in that sense just because I know how tough it is to win on the road," said JMU head coach Sean O'Regan. "That's why I was really that impressed."

The Dukes played solid defense in the victories over the Blue Hens and Dragons. JMU held Delaware to 43 points and Drexel to just 35 points.

James Madison returns home for a pair of games this weekend. The Dukes host Hofstra for a 7 p.m. start Friday night before welcoming Northeastern to Harrisonburg Sunday afternoon for a 2 p.m. tip-off.
