Dukes playing for CAA tournament bid this week

HARRISONBURG, Va. -- The James Madison baseball team will be playing to lock up a spot in the CAA Baseball Championship when the Dukes take the field at UNCW for a three-game series starting Thursday evening.

JMU is looking to earn one of the six bids to the conference tournament, which will be played on the Dukes' home field at Veterans Memorial Park from May 22-26.

JMU is currently part of a four-way tie for third place in the CAA standings. The Dukes, UNCW, Northeastern, and William & Mary all have identical 10-11 league records. Delaware and Hofstra are just a game back at 9-12 in CAA play. James Madison currently holds tiebreakers over William & Mary, Delaware, and Hofstra.

Two wins at UNCW would solidify JMU's spot in the CAA Tournament while one victory would mean the Dukes likely make the field but would still need help.
