HARRISONBURG, Va. -- The James Madison women's basketball team is preparing to face Virginia Tech in the third round of the WNIT Thursday night. The Hokies are led by head coach Kenny Brooks, who served as JMU's head coach for 14 seasons.

Brooks returns to Harrisonburg where he built one of the strongest mid-major women's basketball programs in the country at JMU. In his 14 seasons, he compiled a record of 337-122. Brooks led the Dukes to 11 straight postseason appearances (6 NCAA Tournament, 5 WNIT).

Current JMU head coach Sean O'Regan served as Brooks' assistant for nine seasons. Meanwhile, multiple current members of the Dukes played for and were recruited by Brooks.

Tip-off between Virginia Tech and James Madison is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday night at the Convocation Center.
