HHS & Spotswood play to 1-1 draw in Valley District showdown

PENN LAIRD, Va. -- The Harrisonburg and Spotswood boys soccer teams played to a 1-1 draw Tuesday evening in a matchup of the top two teams in the Valley District.

With the result, HHS (12-1-2 overall, 10-0-1 Valley District) clinches the Valley District regular season title. Meanwhile, Spotswood (11-2-2 overall, 8-1-2 Valley District) has earned the #1 seed in the upcoming Valley District tournament since Harrisonburg does not currently compete in the district's postseason.

The Blue Streaks will prepare to play in the upcoming Region 5D Tournament after wrapping up the regular season Friday at Rockbridge County. The Trailblazers visit Fort Defiance in Friday's regular season finale.

Stuarts Draft girls lock up Shenandoah regular season title
The Stuarts Draft girls soccer team defeated Wilson Memorial, 1-0, Tuesday evening to clinch the Shenandoah District regular season title.

The Cougars improve to 15-0 overall while the Green Hornets drop to 12-2.
