JMU baseball to host Hofstra in crucial conference series

HARRISONBURG, Va. -- The James Madison baseball team is preparing to host Hofstra for a crucial series in the race to earn a spot in the CAA Tournament.

The top six teams in the Colonial Athletic Association qualify for the conference tournament. JMU (4-8 CAA record) is currently in ninth place but just one game back of a three-way tie for fourth place. Hofstra (5-7 CAA record) is one of the teams tied for fourth along with UNCW and Towson.

The Dukes (23-18 overall) and Pride (12-24 overall) will play three games in Harrisonburg over the weekend. Friday's series opener is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. Saturday's contest is slated for a 6 p.m. first pitch with the series wrapping up Sunday at 2 p.m.

JMU has won five of its last six games overall.
