JMU softball's historic 2019 season

HARRISONBURG, Va. -- The James Madison softball team put together one of the best campaigns in program history during the 2019 season.

JMU went 51-10 overall while dominating conference competition with a 20-1 regular season mark in Colonial Athletic Association play. The Dukes won the CAA regular season and tournament titles.

Despite a resume worthy of hosting an NCAA Regional, the Dukes were sent on the road to play in the Ann Arbor Regional. JMU would win the four-team bracket after back-to-back, must-win victories over No. 15 Michigan on the last day of the regional.

After winning the Ann Arbor Regional, JMU advanced to Super Regional play for just the second time in program history. The Dukes' season came to an end in the Super Regional round with a pair of losses at No. 2 UCLA.
