Local talent leads JMU softball

HARRISONBURG, Va.. The No. 15 James Madison softball features a trio of star players who played high school softball in the Valley before joining the Dukes.

Redshirt senior pitcher/infielder Megan Good, junior outfielder Kate Gordon, and junior catcher Kierstin Roadcap are key contributors for JMU.

Good attended Fort Defiance High School and is one of the best players in JMU softball history. The two-way star holds multiple program records.

Gordon, who played at Page County High School, is one of the team's best hitters. She is tied with Good for the team lead with 15 home runs and has a team-best .435 batting average.

Roadcap, a Turner Ashby High School alum, has started every game for the Dukes in and is a solid player behind the plate. She is considered to be one of the team's vocal leaders.

JMU closes out its regular season schedule when the Dukes visit Delaware for a three-game series May 3-4. Friday's doubleheader is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
