No. 4 JMU women's lacrosse defeats No. 14 Virginia Tech

BLACKSBURG, Va. -- The No. 4 James Madison women's lacrosse team defeated No. 14 Virginia Tech, 14-8, Wednesday evening.

JMU fell behind 2-0 less than 90 seconds into the contest but outscored the Hokies, 14-6, the rest of the way.

Junior attacker Logan Brennan scored a career-high five goals while junior attacker Maddie McDaniel added four goals and a career-best nine draw controls.

The win evens JMU's record at 1-1. The Dukes are back in action Sunday for a neutral-site matchup against UConn (0-2) in Sparks, Md. The game is scheduled to start at 12 p.m.
