NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Washington Redskins selected quarterback Dwayne Haskins with the 15th overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft Thursday night.
Haskins, a Potomac, Maryland native, joins the Redskins from Ohio St. He earned All-American honors and was a Heisman Trophy finalist while with the Buckeyes. He threw for 4,843 yards and 50 touchdowns during the 2018 season.
Haskins is considered to be a prototypical pocket passer. He stands at 6'3" and weighs 231 pounds. He joins a Washington quarterback group that includes veterans Case Keenum, Colt McCoy, and Alex Smith. Smith's future is uncertain after suffering a major leg injury during the 2018 season.
