Robertson, Semones lead JMU baseball All-CAA honorees

HARRISONBURG, Va. -- On Tuesday afternoon the Colonial Athletic Association announced their All-CAA Baseball Teams, as well as their Players of the Year for the 2019 season. Four Dukes were selected to All-CAA Teams, while two of them were selected for All-CAA Rookie Team.

Fox Semones and Nick Robertson were named to the All-CAA First Team for the Utility and Relief Pitcher positions. Fox Semones finished the season batting .254, collecting 51 hits, 11 doubles, one triple and one home run. Semones added 28 RBIs on the season to earn his way on to the first team and has played both the outfield and at shortstop.

Nick Robertson earned his way onto the 2019 All-CAA First-Team finishing the regular season with a 5-1 record out of the bullpen. Robertson also posted a 0.56 era in his 32.1 innings pitched, while collecting eight saves and striking out 52 batters. The Junior pitcher on allowed 13 hits and two earned runs on the mound this season.

The Dukes posted two more players on the All-CAA Third-Team with Kyle Novak and Trevon Dabney. Novak earned his way onto the third team, after batting .306 on the season and knocking in 28 RBIs this season. The freshman DH produced a .354 average in league play, while collecting six RBIs and only striking out nine times in his 82 at bats.

Trevon Dabney stepped into the starting role at third base from day one, batting above .500 for the first month of the season. Dabney cooled off toward the end of the season, finishing the year batting .306 and driving in 29 runs on the season. The Freshman leads the team with 22 hit by pitches and continues to produce a .455 on base percentage.

The Dukes will take on William & Mary in the first round of the CAA tournament Wednesday at 4 p.m.
