ELKTON, Va. -- The East Rockingham football team is preparing to play in the Class 2A state semifinals for the first time in school history. Leading the way for the Eagles on offense is senior quarterback Dylan Williams.

Williams is coming off one of his best performances of the 2018 season when he accounted for five total touchdowns in East Rock's 44-29 win over Central in the Region 2B championship Friday night.

"It's great because we win a game and we are not excited about the game," said Williams. "We are all saying we got seven more days of (I) just love being out here."

In the Eagles 13-0 start to the season, Williams has thrown for 2,144 yards and accounted for 28 total touchdowns while distributing the ball to East Rock's vast array of playmakers.

"Dylan is just a winner, that's the bottom line," said East Rockingham head coach Donnie Coleman. "When the lights come on, he makes plays...I am glad he's on our side."

East Rockingham will host Goochland (13-0) in the Class 2A semifinals Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Elkton.
