The James Madison baseball program posted a 26-26 record during the 2018 season. The 26 victories are the most by the Dukes since the 2011 season.

Despite finishing the season with five straight wins, JMU fell one game short of qualifying for the CAA Tournament, which was played on the Dukes' home field at Veterans Memorial Park.

JMU Director of Athletics Jeff Bourne says he feels good about the program moving forward.

"I think they have a very talented team," said Bourne. "I expect a much better year (2019) out of them, win-loss wise but the culture itself is good."

Under the leadership of third-year head coach Marlin Ikenberry and his coaching staff, the Dukes posted a 3.91 ERA as a team in 2018, the best mark since 2002 and eighth lowest team ERA in program history.
