James Madison football enters the 2018 season as one of the top programs in the country.

The Dukes are coming off back-to-back appearances in the National Championship game. JMU won the national title to cap off the 2016 season before finishing as runner-up at the end of the 2017 campaign.

JMU Director of Athletics Jeff Bourne praises the culture around the program and the work of the coaching staff, led by head coach Mike Houston.

"That's what for me, a true barometer of greatness is in the program," said Bourne. "The ability to build it and the ability to maintain. And then to be able to keep that culture consistent is something that makes it very special."

Expectations are high again for JMU in 2018. The Dukes have earned a No. 2 national ranking in the 2018 HERO Sports FCS Preseason Top 25.
