Strong second half leads No. 4 JMU lacrosse past UConn

SPARKS, Md. – The No.4 James Madison women's lacrosse team used a 10-0, second-half run to defeat UConn, 18-9, Saturday at Tierney Field on the site of US Lacrosse Headquarters.

The Dukes and Huskies were tied, 7-7, at halftime before JMU pulled away in the second half.

Senior attacker Hanna Haven registered seven points by scoring four goals and dishing out three assists. Junior attacker Logan Brennan added four goals and an assist while junior attacker Maddie McDaniel earned eight draws.

JMU (2-1 overall) returns to action Saturday for its home opener when the Dukes welcome High Point to Harrisonburg.
