STAUNTON, Va. (WHSV) -- Many years of hard work paid off Tuesday afternoon for six R.E. Lee student-athletes.
The students sit together at the start of signing day.
The students got to celebrate taking their game to the next level while surrounded by family and friends.
They gathered in the school's cafeteria to celebrate.
The six student-athletes play five different sports. Two of them will play at Mary Baldwin University here in the Valley.
Oliver Wilson-Cook, one of the student-athletes, will compete at the division one level for Appalachian State University in North Carolina.
"I''m pretty excited. Signing my life away for the next four years is a little stressful," Wilson-Cook said. "But I'm hoping that the next steps in life, running in college will be fun. Make a lot of memories."
The other student-athletes included:
-Marcos Sasia will play soccer at Mary Baldwin
-Rachel Christian will play volleyball at Mary Baldwin
-Lexie Hall will play basketball at the University of Lynchburg
-Brennin Moss will play football at Becker College
-Carson Murray will play soccer at the Savannah College of Art & Design
