UVA basketball wins first national championship

The Virginia basketball team defeated Texas Tech, 85-77, in overtime Monday night to claim the first national title in program history.
The Cavaliers and Red Raiders were tied, 68-68, after regulation. UVA outscored the Red Raiders, 17-9, in the extra period.
The 'Hoos were led in scoring by redshirt sophomore guard De'Andre Hunter who poured in 27 points. Junior guard Kyle Guy added 24 points while junior guard Ty Jerome chipped in 16 points.
Virginia finishes the season with a 35-3 overall record.
