Snowshoe Extends Ski Season Because of Winter Storms

Snowshoe Mountain Resort says a series of winter storms has created the best snow conditions in its 36-year history.

The Pocahontas County resort announced Tuesday that it is extending its ski season a week. The season will now run through April 5.

Snowshoe says base depths top four feet after a steady barrage of snow. Total snowfall for the season so far exceeds 158 inches, and includes more than 39 inches in the last week.
