Augusta County Looking to Expand Its Solar Community

AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) -- The Augusta Solar Co-op has chosen Sigora Solar to help the community become solar friendly.

The Augusta Solar Co-op is a group formed by homeowners in Staunton, Augusta County, and Waynesboro who wanted to go solar as a group. The group solicited bids from five installers and chose Sigora Solar to install solar systems. Through becoming part of the co-op, homeowners can expect to save 10% to 20%.

"Staunton, Augusta, Waynesboro, this is where we all live. So the fact that the community selected us to help them go solar means a lot to us, and we’re really excited about partnering with them and helping go solar together," said Jeff Nicholson, who works in business development and sales for Sigora Solar.

Sigora Solar's goal is get 40 houses across the Valley to go solar.
