HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- On Thursday, one Valley man celebrated working for a non-profit that helps people with disabilities for the past 50 years.

Donnie Callison is one of the original eight employees of Friendship Industries and on Thursday, he celebrated both the anniversary and his retirement.

Friendship Industries will be hanging a picture of Callison on one of their walls. He remembers doing different jobs and working in a lot of different buildings for the company.

He says he's enjoyed the work that he's done, "I'm going to miss my friends and the work. Yep, I know they're going to miss me when I leave. They said I can come back and visit," said Callison.

"Donnie has been one our outstanding employees and we are so excited that its been for over fifty years. We are delighted to honor him today," said president and CEO George Homan.

The Pilot Club provided the picnic to honor Callison on Thursday afternoon. They have been a long time partner with Friendship Industries.
