“Especially with breast cancer survivors, their treatments can affect their bone density so I like to structure their programs so they are increasing bone density through weight baring exercise whether it is on the treadmill or doing strength training,” Sharon Spalding said.
“A lot of times what happens when somebody gets cancer is you are making other people feel better because the people in your family, they are really feeling it for you as well,” breast cancer survivor, Suzie VanValkenburg, explained.
“With any surgery I do, I want you to be able to look in the mirror and not remember you had to go through this. I just want you to live your best life and cancer to be part of something that happened to you and not what defines you,” Dr. Tierney explained.
Dr. Brandi Nicholson says the most impact on decreasing death from breast cancer, is made by starting breast screenings at 40 years old and doing so on a yearly basis.
