It's been six months since a Copwatch chapter sprung up in Harrisonburg. Since then, the group that claims to watch the watchers has seen their membership increase.
The Copwatch "Know Your Rights" training session at the Broad Street Mennonite Church in Harrisonburg. Community members came out heard the constitutional and legal rights they have when dealing with police.
They did role play and they even explained what a warrant should have in order for it to be valid. "A lot of people are grateful that we are putting this information out there and many people have shared stories of feeling mistreated by police, "says Copwatch member Peter Gelderloos.
Copwatch members plan to began offering training session in Spanish.
