A 10-year-old case involving one of Rockingham County's most wanted is surfacing.
Investigators believe they have found Tammy Lucas, who allegedly abducted her child after a custody battle back in 2000.
Last week, deputies in Page County received a tip from a man in Liberty County, Texas who claimed to have dated Lucas and suspected something wasn't quite right.
Page County referred the man to Rockingham County where he told investigators after becoming suspicious of her actions, he found her on a child abduction database.
Deputies from Rockingham County notified rangers in Texas, who found her and took her into custody.
Investigators say Lucas has gone by many different names in the past 10 years, but finally admitted to being Tammy Lucas.
Rockingham County investigators are pleased this case is coming to a close, but admit it is rare for a case like this to surface after 10 years.
"It just goes to show you how well it can work when law enforcement agencies work together with a national database, " said Captain J.B Wittig with the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office.
The father is in Texas this week to see his son, Dalton Lucas, who is now 16-years-old.
Investigators are still processing charges against Lucas.
