ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va – Harrisonburg Firefighters visited the Mid-Atlantic Burn Camp on Thursday. The camp was for kids who have significant scarring from burns.
Three Valley kids are campers this week at Camp Brethren Woods.
Firefighters played games with the kids and others taught them how to scuba dive. The camp is designed to give children a chance to be with others who have gone through similar experiences.
One child from the Valley said she enjoys the camp.
“It's really fun and you can meet a lot of people and then you have a bunch of stories to tell your friends,” said Aubree Morris.
The camp started on Sunday and will end on Saturday. Directors hope this week will leave a lasting impact on the kids.
