HARRISONBURG, Va. -- The father of presidential candidate Ted Cruz made a stop here in the Valley.

Rafeal Cruz spoke at the 14th annual "Salute to the Family" dinner at James Madison University. It's a fundraiser for the Valley Family Forum.

More than 500 people came out to hear him speak about topics concerning our community.

"It's about time that we fight to preserve the sanctity of life, it's about time that we fight to preserve the sanctity of marriage, it's about time that we fight to preserve the purity of our teenagers," said Cruz.

State Sen. Mark Obenshain and Rep. Bob Goodlatte also attended the event.
